Suzhou High School - International Division

Suzhou High School of Jiangsu Province, dating back to its founding in 1035 AD, is an elite public high school in China. Over the past ten centuries, the school has been a pioneer in educational practices and reforms, always open to pedagogical approaches new to this ancient campus.

Suzhou High School - International Division is a newly-sprouted branch of the 1,000-year-old Suzhou High School of Jiangsu Province. We are committed to offering our students unique learning and growing experiences; thus, we strive to create a curriculum which brings together the best of eastern and western educational principles and approaches. This integrated curriculum is as Chinese as it is international.

As of November 14, 2022, Suzhou High School of Jiangsu Province is officially an authorised IB World School, the first in Suzhou and the third public school in Jiangsu Province. IB World Schools share a common philosophy - a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education - that we believe is important for our students.
 

No matter where they come from, our students are invariably encouraged to identify and embrace their own cultural identities and develop international-mindedness to ultimately serve the local and global communities.

A Three-Year Program

Our curriculum is planned as a progressive framework that spans three years, which consists of the one-year Bridge Program (Year 10) and the two-year IB Diploma Programme (Years 11-12).  It is an integration of the IB education, the Chinese national curriculum and the Chinese Wu culture, aiming to develop our students into lifelong learners with international mindedness, independent thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, community awareness, and, above all, honesty and integrity.

Faculty

Our teachers are what we're truly proud of: they are extraordinarily knowledgeable, responsible, supportive, and passionate educators.  An average of 15+ years of teaching experience can say a lot about their expertise.

Nearly half of our teachers are international teachers coming from four continents. There are educational experts from Suzhou High School of Jiangsu Province, veteran IBDP educators with titles such as the IBDP examiners, external moderators, workshop leaders, and authorization/evaluation readers, and younger teachers who are mostly Suzhou High School graduates with teaching experiences and academic degrees from top-notch universities overseas.
 

When our students graduate from SZZX - ID, we will be happy to see that the Chinese students will have a vision of the whole world, while the international students will have a better understanding and appreciation of the Chinese culture. Together, they share a love and passion for the world. They are as Chinese as they are international.
